Armin Strom Manual "Hunt Slonem Edition" for Only Watch 2017. Only Watch is a biennial charity auction of unique timepieces created by several important watch brands united for research on Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. The 7th Edition will be organized by Christie’s and will take place on Saturday 11 November 2017, 2:30 pm CET at the Four Seasons Hôtel des Bergues in Geneva.
For this occasion, Armin Strom is presenting a timepiece which blends together art and watchmaking thanks to the collaboration with Hunt Slonem, the American painter and sculptor best known for his Neo-Expressionist paintings of tropical birds and rabbits.

For this occasion, Armin Strom is presenting a timepiece which blends together art and watchmaking thanks to the collaboration with Hunt Slonem, the American painter and sculptor best known for his Neo-Expressionist paintings of tropical birds and rabbits.
The Armin Strom Manual “Hunt Slonem Edition” for Only Watch comes in a titanium case with a diameter of 43.4 mm featuring the manually wound AMW11 calibre manufactured in-house with off-centre time display and seconds subdial.
Beating at a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour, this 112-part manufacture movement offers a remarkable 5 day power-reserve thanks to its openwork spring barrel.
Hunt Slonem’s contemporary art has been transferred to the dial. A composition of pastel hues and powerful lines continues the artist’s famous “bunny paintings” series.
Together with the watch, the successful future bidder will be acquiring a hand-signed original which takes up the colours and motifs of the timepiece in a 46 cm x 31 cm format.
For his work entitled "Rex", the artist has used metal pigments in oil paint as the base for his characteristic linear styling.
Hunt Slonem and Serge Michel, owner of Armin Strom as well as art lover and fan of Slonem’s works, were particularly keen to dedicate their work to the Monaco foundation: “We are proud of being able to make our contribution to research into Duchenne muscular dystrophy through this cooperation.”
