Lange & Söhne is now presenting a new variation of its celebrated 1815 Chronograph which combines a white-gold case with a black dial enhanced by white numerals and a pulsometer scale. The new A. Following the boutique edition featuring a white dial with blue numerals and pulsometer scale introduced in 2015 (we wrote about it here), A. Lange & Söhne is presenting a new variation of its celebrated 1815 Chronograph which combines a white-gold case with a black dial enhanced by a pulsometer scale.
Legibility is truly excellent with the rhodiumed hands and the white indications clearly standing out against the jet-black solid-silver dial.
Heart rates can be determined with the pulsometer scale on the outer ring of the dial. It is graduated from 40 to 200 beats. When the time for 30 beats is measured, the peripheral scale indicates the heart rate per minute.
Perfectly proportioned, the 39.5 mm case is fitted with a sapphire-crystal caseback to offer the owner with the delightful view of the lavishly finished chronograph movement which can be observed in action, including the column wheel that controls the chronograph functions, the levers of the flyback mechanism, and the snail of the precisely jumping minute counter.
Hallmarks of the Lange style include the whiplash spring of the precision beat-adjustment system on the hand-engraved balance cock.
Featuring a manufactory-made free-sprung balance spring, the calibre L951.5 movement beats at a frequency of 18,000 semi-oscillations per hour (2.5 hertz) allowing the chronograph function to measure times with an accuracy of one fifth of a second. The power reserve is 60 hours.

Datograph without the large date?
ReplyDeleteNo. Many differences. The Datograph has a larger diameter (41mm) and is thicker, baton indices, tachymeter scale, power reserve indicator, contrasting counters, different movement, and of course the large date.
