Powered by the original L.U.C 01.10-L calibre, the new L.U.C GMT One created by Chopard provides a dual-time read-off, one of the most useful watch complication for globetrotters.
The launch of the new watch - the first L.U.C model to feature a dual-time function smoothly integrated into the movement - coincides with the 20th anniversary of the founding of the Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier.
When travelling, the L.U.C GMT One displays a second time zone (local time) while keeping track of the home time.
The 42 mm x 11.71 mm stainless steel case frames a sunburst black dial rimmed by slate grey to show the 24 hours, transferred in white for daytime hours and in orange for the night hours.
A first crown positioned at 2 o’clock serves to adjust the date and local time, while the second crown at 4 o’clock controls the large baton-type hand tipped with a large orange arrow and pointing to the second time zone.
The new Chopard Manufacture self-winding Calibre L.U.C 01.10-L is endowed with a 60-hour power reserve and beats at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vph). Its finishes - visible through a transparent sapphire crystal case-back - meet the highest aesthetic norms: its components are all chamfered and its bridges are adorned with Côtes de Genève.
Product design, movement development, gold smelting, case machining, movement components, traditional hand-crafted finishes, polishing, assembly, adjustment and movement quality control: all watch production operations are performed in-house by Chopard.
Chronometer-certified by the COSC and water resistant to 50 metres / 165 feet, the L.U.C GMT One (Ref. 168579-3001) has a price of Swiss Francs 9,500 / Euro 9,360 / US$ 9,500. chopard.com
