After the successful launch of the Carrera Heuer-02T Tourbillon at the beginning of 2016 (you can read about it here), a watch which created lot of buzz for being the first Swiss made tourbillon to be retailed for less than 15,000 Swiss Francs, Tag Heuer is expanding the line with two new models enhanced by rose gold elements.
Thanks to the innovative modular construction of case and dial adopted for this collection, it is now much easier for Tag Heuer to create new versions by combining materials, colours, treatments and finishes.
In particular, the parts that change from version to version are the bezel and the lugs as well as counters, hands and hour markers. All versions share the ultra-light 45 mm titanium case (which offers water resistance to 100 metres / 330 feet) and the manufacture Calibre Heuer-02T movement characterised by a black column wheel, black skeleton bridges and a carbide-coated titanium tourbillon cage.
The first new model is the reference CAR5A5Y which combines the carbide-coated titanium case with rose gold lugs and a black ceramic bezel.
The second model (ref. CAR5A5Z) differs from the first for the bezel which is made of rose gold instead of black ceramic.
For both models the hands and the hour-markers are rose gold plated.
Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve in excess of 65 hours, the Calibre Heuer-02T movement is certified by the Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres (COSC) as a high-precision chronometer.
