Tag Heuer expands the Carrera Heuer 01 line with three new models that were showcased at Baselworld 2016 last month.
Lauched in 2015, the watch introduced the new Heuer-01 in-house calibre based on the 1887 calibre as well as a new modular case design with 12 elements instead of a single piece. Thanks to this new solution, designers have the possibility to experiment with almost infinite combinations of materials, colours and finishes.
This year, the metal bracelet makes its appearance in the collection. Made from H-shaped links with the Carrera design, the design of the bracelet enables the alternating satin-finished and polished finishes in tune with the large 45 mm case.
The external links feature a vertical brushed satin finish, while the central link is polished. The piece is topped off with a dual safety mechanism featuring two push-pieces.
The all-steel Carrera Heuer 01 (ref. CAR2A1W.BA0703) maintains the model's distinctive skeleton dial, which reveals the chronograph controls, the openwork date disc on the dial side with red accents which match the red column wheel on the back side.
An all-titanium option is also available. Called the “Carrera Heuer 01 Grey Phantom” (ref. CAR2A8A.BF0707), this model explores all the shades of grey for a modern look. Resistant to corrosion, erosion and fire, titanium is a metal widely used in a range of fields from aeronautics to aerospace, and from the chemicals industry to medicine. It is twice as light and twice as resistant as steel, ideal qualities for a technical, sport watch.
A third version of the Carrera Heuer 01 combines ceramic and rubber in all-black combination (ref. CAR2A90.FT6071). Case, bezel, lugs and case middle are all made from black ceramic, to minimise signs of wear while offering an attractive pitch-black design. The piece is matched to a textured black rubber strap.
Water resistant to 100 metres / 330 feet, the case houses the Heuer-01 self-winding calibre beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4Hz) and offering a power reserve of 50 hours or 40 hours with the chronograph in operation.
Continuing to improve and optimise production cycles, Tag Heuer can make the Carrera Heuer 01 available for between Swiss Francs 5,000 and 7,000 (depending on the version), the only chronograph produced entirely in-house with these types of finish in this price range. tagheuer.com

I prefer the classic Carrera but I want to see these in the metal
ReplyDeleteI like a lot the modular approach and the openworked dial. Love the full black version.
