Perrelet Lab. At Baselworld 2016, Perrelet introduced a brand new collection named Lab which maintains the signature rotor of the automatic winding movement on the dial but in a more discreet way. The Perrelet Lab is proposed in three dial variations: silver-toned (ref. A 1100/1), anthracite (ref. A 1100/2) or black (ref. A 1100/3) with a retail price of Euro 4,950 / US$ 4,950 before taxes.
At Baselworld 2016, Perrelet introduced a brand new collection named Lab which maintains the signature rotor of the automatic winding movement on the dial but in a more discreet way.
With the Lab, Perrelet combines a high-quality manufacture movement - which includes in-house production of components like escapement, regulating organ and balance-spring - with an innovative and original design. The result is a causal chic timepiece with a strong character.
The stainless steel 42 x 42 mm case is cushion-shaped with soft, rounded lines along with brushed and polished lugs. The bezel is polished with a satin-brushed profile. The case middle features a vertical decoration composed of tiny raised rectangles.
The case-back fitted with a sapphire crystal is assembled with six screws and guarantees water-resistace to 5 bar.
The dial has a multi-level structure which creates a pleasant three-dimensional effect and invites to discover the variety of finishes and decorations. The central part is adorned with vertical lines, while the rim is circular-brushed. A very nice detail, the cut-out hour-markers are applied to a sapphire crystal ring, giving the impression that they are floating on air. Hour-markers and hands are treated with Super-LumiNova for enhanced visibility in the dark.
The sapphire crystal ring also serves to display the most distinctive feature of this timepiece: its oscillating weight adorned with a screw-down plate bearing a slanted-line decoration.
In fact, differently from most watches that display the rotor through the case-back, the Lab allows the owner to observe the motion of the oscillating weight while reading the time. This is an exclusive feature of the Perrelet Manufacture Calibre P-411 beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a 42-hour power reserve. The oscillating weight is fixed to a toothed wheel (with toothing on the inside) known as a “couronne”, positioned on the outer part of the movement, that meshes with a pinion placed on the outer rim of the movement.
Fitted with a black alligator leather strap and a stainless steel folding clasp with the brand logo, the Perrelet Lab is proposed in three dial variations: silver-toned (ref. A 1100/1), anthracite (ref. A 1100/2) or black (ref. A 1100/3) with a retail price of Euro 4,950 / US$ 4,950 before taxes. perrelet.com

Beautiful! Happy to see something different from most watches. I think this is the right way to go for Perrelet. The rotor on the dial side is good but it should not cover the entire dial like other models.
