Introduced to the public in 1931, the Reverso is one of the most iconic watches ever created.
In 2016 Jaeger-LeCoultre will celebrate 85 years of history of this model with a new collection. We present here a preview of some of the novelties that will be showcased during the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie 2016 (Geneva, 18-22 January 2016). We expect that other novelties will be unveiled during the event.
The new models are part of two main families: Classic and Tribute.
The Classic family will include models featuring the typical silver dials with black transferred Arabic numerals and thermally blued hands in three sizes: Small (34 mm x 21 mm x 7.40 mm), Medium (40 mm x 24.4 mm x 9 mm) and Large (45.6 mm x 27.4 mm x 9.70 mm). The Small models will house a Quartz movement Calibre 657 while for the Medium and Large versions the movement of choice is the self-winding Calibre 964 beating at 28,800 vph and offering 38 hours of power reserve. A solid back-case will offer the possibility to personalise it with any type of engraving.
The Classic line will also include the Reverso Duo for men and the Reverso Duetto for women.
The Reverso Duo 2016 will be available in a stainless steel (ref. Q3838420) or pink gold case (ref. Q3832420) with a size of 47 mm x 28.3 mm x 11.6 mm. The model will feature hours, minutes and 24-hour indicator on the main face and the second time zone on the black back face decorated with a hobnail guilloché motif. The watch will be powered by the automatic Calibre 969 beating at 28,800 vph with 38 hours of power reserve.
To adjust the second timezone while preserving the smooth aesthetic lines, instead of using a push-piece on the crown side of the case, a discreet trigger system is seamlessly integrated into the case at 6 o’clock, only visible during the flipping operation.
The Reverso Duetto 2016 will be offered in stainless steel or pink gold in two sizes: Small (34.2 mm x 21 mm x 8.7 mm) and Medium (40 mm x 24 mm x 9.6 mm), the first with a hand-wound Calibre 844 (21,600 vph) and the second with the self-winding calibre 968A (28,800 vph).
In the Tribute family we will find the Reverso Tribute Duo and the Reverso Tribute Calendar, both characterised by the design code of the very successful Tribute to Reverso collection launched in 2011 for the 80th Anniversary of the watch.
The blue-themed Reverso Tribute Duo (ref. Q3908420) will be initially available in stainless steel only with a case size (42.8 mm x 25.5 mm x 9.15 mm) which is half-way between the Medium and the Large cases of the Classic family.
The opaline grained dial of the main face is beautifully complemented by blue hour markers and hands while the back face features a blues "Clous de Paris" hobnail guilloché motif with a main chapter ring with 12 subdivisions to display the second time zone and a 24-hour indication appearing below in the form of a circle bearing the words "NIGHT" on the left and "DAY" on the right.
The hand wound Calibre 854 A/2 beats at 21,600 vibrations per hours and guarantees 45 hours of power reserve.
The last model, the Reverso Tribute Calendar (ref. Q3912420), is also the largest one coming in a 49.4 mm x 29.9 mm x 12.06 mm pink gold case.
The indications on the main face include hours, minutes, day, month, date and a hammered moon-phase display. The second time zone of the back face is enriched by a captivating day/night indicator.
The movement is the hand-wound Calibre 853 comprised of 283 parts and beating at 21,600 vph with an autonomy of 45 hours.

Love the Tribute Duo. I believe it has the same size of the Grande Taille version.
