The history of the Armin Strom manufacture goes back to 1967 when its eponymous founder settled his own business in the old town Burgdorf, to the northwest of Bern in Switzerland.
Over the years, Armin Strom built an exceptional reputation as the creator of unique hand-skeletonized timepieces. He retired in 2011, after selling the company to the Michel family but his heritage remains in the DNA of the brand which shares his belief that – as an object of fine mechanical art – a hand-finished movement is too good to remain hidden between a watch face and case back.

While the Swiss brand already produced tourbillon timepieces - a hand-wound tourbillon in 2012 and a micro-rotor tourbillon in 2013 - this is the first tourbillon model with a fully skeletonized movement. This way, two technical feats are combined in a watch that will fascinate the owner with the constant rotation of the tourbillon and the animation of the double going barrel while the watch is wound.
Beating at 18,000 vibrations per hours, the manufacture hand-wound movement calibre ATC11-S has a thickness of 6.20 mm and is characterised by fully skeletonised main plate, gear-train bridges and barrel-bridges. Escape wheel and pallets are made of solid gold with hardened functional areas.
Thanks to the double going barrel, the Skeleton Tourbillon delivers an exceptional power reserve of 10 days.
The rose gold case has a diameter of 43.40 mm with a total thickness of 13.00 mm. The signature "lip", positioned at 6 o’clock on the bezel, can be used to personalise the watch with engraved initials.
