HYT Watches H4 Metropolis. Based on the same movement architecture as the H1, HYT's first timepiece, the H4 Metropolis is completely skeletoniZed but this is not the only difference. The HYT H4 Metropolis (ref. 512-TD-45-GF-RN) will be produced in 100 pieces with a price of US$ 94,000.
Based on the same movement architecture as the H1, HYT's first timepiece, the H4 Metropolis is completely skeletonised but this is not the only difference.
The large 51 mm x 17.9 mm titanium case also features a titanium black DLC bezel and two rubber-clad screw-down black DLC titanium crowns: one at 2:30 for setting the time and winding the movement and the other at 4:30 for a completely new function.
In fact, the H4 Metropolis is equipped with a light source but one whose origin is purely mechanical.
Under the rider at 6 o'clock, HYT has concealed two LEDs that, when activated, illuminate the entire dial with blue light.
At night, the green fluid is energised by this light source, becoming perfectly visible. At the same time, the light lighten the openworked architecture of the dial.
The generator is not visible and it is positioned between 4 and 5 o'clock. As shown in the video at the end of the article, the rotation of the push-piece at 4:30 winds the generator by converting mechanical power into light energy, just like a dynamo. Pressure on this same push-piece then activates the two LEDs.
This illumination lasts for five seconds, after which the mechanism must be reinitialised. Of course the process is entirely mechanical so no battery is needed.
The exclusive HYT hand-wound movement beats at 28,800 vph and has an autonomy of 65 hours when fully wound. The front dial includes a power reserve indicator at 2:30.
Visible through the sapphire crystal case back, it features hand-bevelled and micro-blasted bridges.
The H4 Metropolis is water resistant to 50 metres and matched to a black rubber strap with integrated canvas and black DLC titanium folding buckle.
