Among other novelties on showcase at Baselworld 2015, Rolex is introducing a new black and Everose gold version of the Yacht-Master model (reference 116655) fitted with an innovative technical bracelet developed and patented by Rolex.
Sporty yet chic, the new model will be offered in two sizes: 40 mm and a new 37 mm diameter, ideal for smaller wrists.
The Oyster case includes a rotatable bezel fitted with a new Cerachrom insert in black ceramic with polished raised numerals on a matt background, a finish which creates a nice contrast with the polished gold case.
The black dial – a first for the Yacht-Master – contrasts with the broad hands and hour markers filled with a luminescent material emitting a blue glow.
The Oyster case, with screwed down case back and winding crown, is waterproof to a depth of 100 metres (330 feet) and protects the self-winding mechanical movement: calibre 3135 in the 40 mm version and calibre 2236 in the 37mm. Both calibres are certified by COSC as Swiss chronometers.
In calibre 3135, the oscillator has a blue Parachrom hairspring patented and manufactured by Rolex in an exclusive alloy. Calibre 2236 is fitted with the new Rolex-developed Syloxi hairspring in silicon introduced in 2014. Insensitive to magnetic interferences, both hairsprings offer enhanced stability in the face of temperature variations and remain up to 10 times more precise than a traditional hairspring in case of shocks.
The Yacht-Master’s new Oysterflex bracelet, developed and patented by Rolex, offers a sporty alternative to metal bracelets without compromising robustness, waterproofness or reliability. At its core lies a superelastic metal blade overmoulded with high-performance black elastomer.
For enhanced comfort, the inside of the Oysterflex bracelet is equipped with a patented longitudinal cushion system that stabilises the watch on the wrist.

ReplyDeleteWill Rolex release also a steel version?
ReplyDeletewould be waiting for the steel version...or if the strap would fit my sub or the older yacht-master

ReplyDeleteHow many will be Produced. The more rare the watch you hopefully you don't take a big hit (depreciation) if you buy retail.
