Guillochè (presumably named after a French engineer - Guillot - who invented a turning machine in the 18th century) is a decorative technique in which a repetitive pattern is engraved into an underlying material using a mechanical engine-turning table.
The classic lines of the 1966 case are, this way, combined to one of the finest decoration used in haute horlogerie. A concentric pattern with twelve sectors radiating from the centre of the dial, create an arabesque with silvered opaline reflections.
Baton-shaped indexes mark the hour indicated by the collection's characteristic leaf-shaped hands.
The bezel of the pink gold case is polished in the 38 mm model and set with sixty brilliant-cut diamonds in the 30 mm version.
Both models feature a sapphire crystal case-back to reveal the beautiful finishes of the movements.
The ultra-thin GP03300-00030 self-winding movement used for the 38mm model has a 46-hour power reserve with a frequency of 28,800 vibrations per hour. Functions are: hour, minute, central second and date.
The model for Ladies is driven by the classic GP03200-0005 calibre that is also self-winding with a 42-hour power reserve. Its pink gold oscillating weight is engraved with a tapestry of Girard-Perregaux logos. It offers the hours and minutes functions.
