Pre-SIHH 2015: Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph. The new Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph reinterprets these distinctive marks combining them with special materials. The Montblanc Timewalker Urban Speed Chronograph with e-Strap will have a retail price of Euro 4,690 and will be available starting from June 2015.
Very rarely a strap steals the spotlight to the watch it secures but, with the e-Strap presented by Montblanc, it happened. After writing about this innovative smart strap, we can now focus on the first model of the TimeWalker collection that Montblanc will offer with the option of the new digital device.
Resolutely masculine, the TimeWalker line is characterized by skeletonised horns, a narrow bezel, a large dial with Arabic numerals in a distinctive, clearly contoured typography, and the characteristic lancet-shaped hands.
The new Montblanc TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph reinterprets these distinctive marks combining them with special materials like the “cold grey” sand-blasted steel used for the 43 mm case and the the black ceramic bezel.
The dial is clear and legible thanks to the black background which accentuates the white numerals and dynamic red elements on the central chronograph hand and the minute scale. The periphery bears the seconds scale for the chronograph’s slender elapsed-seconds hand and is subdivided into readily legible quarter-of-a-second increments to match the 4Hz (28,800 vph) pace of the movement.
A fine embossed pattern of circular striations decorates the centre and the periphery of the dial. The chronograph 30-minute and 12-hour counters are respectively positioned at 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock with the small seconds sub-dial at 9 o'clock.
The TimeWalker Urban Speed Chronograph is powered by the automatic Calibre MB 25.07 movement equipped with an integrated chronograph function and offering 46 hours of power reserve. The movement is visible through the sapphire crystal case back.
The strap, made of grey stitched calfskin with the characteristic carbon appearance and with the possibility to be integrated with the e-Strap digital device, emphasizes the technical and sporty spirit of the watch.
