Ralf Tech is a small independent brand which creates ultra limited editions, or "Editions Manufacture", with a truly artisanal approach.
Each series is composed of just few pieces and is never reissued. Depending on the collection, only 1 to 22 pieces are produced. All the pieces are constructed, decorated and assembled entirely by hand by a single watchmaker in a modern atelier based in Le Locle in the Neuchatel canton.
The new WRX Manufacture Torpedo, issued in a limited edition of 10 pieces, is characterised by a dial which reproduces the control panel at the back of a torpedo tube found in 2003 inside a Spanish C3 submarine that sank in 1936 and that was lying on the bottom 75 meters deep.
Protected by a 2.4 mm thick anti-glare sapphire glass, the dial consists of two levels, with overlapping decorations fixed by screws. The pressure manometer at 9 o'clock is used as the small seconds sub-dial. The anthracite matt PVD hands are red tipped for better legibility.
The case, made of 316L surgical stainless steel with matt black DLC treatment, has a diameter of 47.5 mm and offers water resistance to 3ATM. The raised steel bezel features Ruthenium treated indexes polished by hand.
The screw down transparent case back displays the manufacture movement Calibre 63 and the hand-decorated oscillating mass. Beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour and offering a power reserve of 50 hours, the movement is finished with Côtes de Genève decoration and colimaçonné bevel (snailed).
The WRX Manufacture Torpedo is completely handmade and requires more than 60 hours of labour, from machining parts to their assembly. It is matched to a black Louisiana alligator strap and has a price of Euro 9,800. ralftech-manufacture.com
