A. Lange and Sohne Langematik Perpetual Black Dial. The Langematik Perpetual was Lange’s first self-winding wristwatch with a perpetual calendar and an outsize date. Today A. Lange and Sohne announced a new version of this exceptional timepiece, part of the Saxonia collection, combining a white-gold case with a deep black dial. The new A. Lange and Sohne Langematik Perpetual (ref. 310.026) will be presented for the first time on 23 September 2014, during the inauguration of the first Lange boutique in Moscow.
The Langematik Perpetual was Lange’s first self-winding wristwatch with a perpetual calendar and an outsize date. Today A. Lange & Sohne announced a new version of this exceptional timepiece, part of the Saxonia collection, which combines a white-gold case with a deep black dial.
The perpetual calendar displays the date, the day of the week, the month, and recognises the different number of days in each month and even the leap years. Once correctly set, the date display needs only to be corrected by one day every hundred years. The moon-phase display is also impressively accurate as it deviates from the true position of the moon by merely one day every 122.6 years (assuming the watch runs without interruption).
All displays of the perpetual calendar can be switched individually or collectively. Collective adjustment is performed with a push piece positioned at the top of the case. Smaller push pieces allow the day of the week, the month and the moon-phase display to be advanced separately.
The black, solid-silver dial enhances the contrast with the luminous hands and rhodiumed-gold appliques which clearly stand out for excellent legibility.
The 38.5 mm classic white gold case houses the self-winding Sax-0-Mat calibre which can be admired through the sapphire crystal caseback with its typical three-quarter plate made of untreated German silver and the hand-engraved balance cock with the whiplash precision index adjuster.
Thanks to the patented Zero-Reset mechanism, when the crown is pulled, the seconds hand jumps to the zero position to simplify the synchronisation of the watch. The bidirectionally winding rotor in 21-carat gold with a platinum centrifugal mass builds up the maximum power reserve of 46 hours after only a short time on the wrist.
