The Armin Strom One Week Skeleton Collection becomes this way the modern symbol of the Armin Strom tradition which started in the late 1960s in the town of Burgdorf, northwest of Bern.
The combination of functionality with aesthetics, by cutting away all the parts of the movement which have no active function for its operation and then engraving and decorating the remaining parts with intricate detailing, makes skeleton watches a mesmerising spectacle.
The manual-winding calibre ARM09-S, beating at 18,000 vph and visible on both sides through sapphire crystals, features the typical off-centre time indications with small seconds and power reserve indicator at 9 o'clock.
Thanks to double barrels, the movement offers 7-days of power reserve. Even the going barrel springs are visible through the winding wheels.
The fully skeletonised main plate, gear-train bridges and barrel-bridges are decorated with classical hand-engravings. The escape wheel and pallets are made of massive gold with hardened functional areas.
