MB1F LM101. Legacy Machine 101. The latest Legacy Machine from Maximilian Büsser and Friends (MB&F) is simpler and smaller than its predecessors but without losing appeal. The new Legacy Machine 101 (LM101) brings to the fore the essence of a wristwatch: the balance wheel, the indication of power reserve and of course the time. Only 30 pieces of each gold version will be made each year with a retail price of US$59,000 which makes the LM101 the less expensive MB&F timepiece ever produced.
The latest Legacy Machine from Maximilian Büsser and Friends (MB&F) is a surprising one and not for rare features or for a new design solution but because it is simpler and smaller than its predecessors without losing appeal.
The new Legacy Machine 101 (LM101) brings to the fore the essence of a wristwatch: the balance wheel, the indication of how much power remains, and of course the time.
The suspended balance wheel, floating above the movement and dials, is the symbol of this timepiece, making it immediately recognisable.
Hours and minutes are displayed on the white sub-dial asymmetrically positioned at the top right. At 6 o'clock, the 45-hour power reserve indicator is displayed in a smaller, but similar subdial.
The case has a diameter of 40 mm and a thickness of 16 mm at the centre of the anti-reflective domed sapphire crystal.
The LM101 is powered by a hand-wound movement with single mainspring barrel whose exceptional finishing and aesthetic specifications, including internal bevel angles, polished bevels, Geneva waves, and hand-made engravings were defined by the Finnish master watchmaker Kari Voutilainen paying homage to the style found in high quality historic pocket watches.
Beating at 18,000 vibrations per hour, this is the very first movement developed entirely in-house by MB&F.
The LM101 is available in white gold or red gold and it is fitted with black or brown hand-stitched alligator strap with matching gold tang buckle.
