Dedicated to the America's Cup, the new Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500m Calibre 72 Countdown Automatic Chronograph is available in a new limited edition paying hommage to the Oracle Team USA with the "Team USA" logo applied on the dial.
The 34th Edition of the America's Cup opened yesterday and watch manufacturers are unveiling some new models dedicated to the oldest and most important sailing trophy.
After the Omega Seamaster 300m Diver ETNZ Limited Edition, here is the new Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500m Calibre 72 Countdown Automatic Chronograph, available in a limited edition paying homage to the Oracle Team USA with the "Team USA" logo applied on the dial and the Oracle Team USA boat stamped on the case back.
The 43 mm case in alternate fine-brushed and polished stainless steel features a unidirectional bezel in ultra-resistant black ceramic with “countdown” engraved in lacquered red. With a screw-in crown with double safety gaskets, the case offers water resistance to 500 metres. The automatic helium release valve at 10 o’clock is needed by professional divers operating at great depths for prolonged periods of time.
The running seconds counter is positioned at 9 o'clock while at 3 o'clock we find the 30-minute counter. At 12 we find the small date window and the five-windowed minutes countdown disc displaying 5, 10 or 15 minutes before the starting line.
The diamond shaped skeleton hands make the countdown windows always readable. Both the hands and the applied indexes are treated with luminescent coating.
The automatic Calibre 72, beating at 28,800 vibrations per hour, offers a power reserve of about 40 hours.
The Tag Heuer Aquaracer 500m Calibre 72 Countdown Automatic Chronograph is also available in a non-limited edition (ref. CAK211A.BA0833) without third-party logos, no red details and a ceramic bezel with standard numerals.
