Introducing the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer

Omega has introduced the new Seamaster Planet Ocean Worldtimer.

This model, available in two colour variations, brings Omega's innovative Worldtimer complication, previously seen in the Seamaster Aqua Terra 150 range (read our review here), into the Seamaster Planet Ocean collection.

Echoing the Planet Ocean Deep Black, each 45.50 mm × 17.40 mm model features a brushed black ceramic [ZrO2] case and a black ceramic bezel with a laser-ablated diving scale, polished in positive relief. It offers water resistance to 60 bar (600 metres / 2000 feet).

One model (ref. 215.92.46.22.01.006) is distinguished by turquoise varnish, featuring hands and indexes filled with white Super-LumiNova. It is worn on an integrated strap in black structured rubber with turquoise stitching and a foldover clasp in ceramic and ceramised titanium.

The other version (ref. 215.92.46.22.01.007) has grey varnish, with hands and indexes filled with Omega’s new grey Super-LumiNova. It is worn on the same black structured rubber strap but includes a grey underside.

At the centre of the dial, a depiction of the Earth appears on a Grade 5 titanium surface, with a view over the North Pole created via laser-ablation and varnish.

Encircling this map, beneath hesalite glass, is a 24-hour indication dividing night and day.

The outer section of each dial is coated in black DLC and features a laser-ablated, polished honeycomb pattern.

An outer ring displays silvery-printed global destinations, including Bienne at GMT+1, Omega's home in Switzerland.

Visible through the transparent sapphire crystal caseback, the self-winding Master Chronometer Calibre 8938 with Co-Axial escapement operates at a frequency of 25,200 vibrations per hour. It features a free sprung-balance with silicon balance spring and offers a power reserve of 60 hours.

Movement and watch are tested according to the Master Chronometer certification process approved by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS) whose testing criteria include the average daily precision of the complete watch, the accuracy of the uncased movement (similar to COSC testing), its precision when fully wound and near the end of its power reserve, water resistance, and the anti-magnetic performance of both the movement alone and the entire watch under exposure to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
