As a pioneer in the development of wrist chronographs and stopwatches, Hanhart has played a significant role in the history of the German watch industry.

In the mid 1960s, the Black Forest watchmaker presented the 415 ES, a chronograph that introduced a bidirectional rotating bezel with 60-minute graduations for the first time in the brand’s history, along with a sporty wing logo to modernise its image.

Hanhart is now reviving that historical timepiece, with an updated 415 ES chronograph model, where "ES" stands for stainless steel (in German “Edelstahl”), of which the watch's case is made.

With the new edition of the 415 ES, Hanhart revives the charm and aesthetics of the original 1960s timepiece while incorporating modern materials and an updated movement for contemporary performance and durability.

Crafted from stainless steel, the case measures 39 mm in diameter (the same of the 1960s original) with a thickness of 13.50 mm and alternates brushed and polished surfaces.

The fluted countdown bezel rotates bidirectionally in 60 clicks and features a black ceramic inlay. The crown is embossed with the Hanhart ‘h’ of the historic wing logo.

Protected by a high-domed sapphire crystal with internal anti-reflective treatment, the matte black dial includes a 30-minute chronograph counter at 3 o'clock and running seconds at 9 o'clock.

The tachymeter scale along the outer edge allows for speed measurements over a set distance, while a red hundredths scale (industrial minute) expresses time in decimal form, dividing one minute into 100 units. This system is useful for industrial and technical applications such as managing work and production times.

The straight hour and minute hands, along with numerals and indexes, are coated with Super-LumiNova X1 for a green glow in low-light conditions, ensuring optimal legibility. For enhanced precision, the minute and stop-second hands are curved at their tips to eliminate parallax errors.

After more than 40 years, Hanhart reintroduces its historic 'wing logo,' originally featured on the 1960s model, bringing a unique touch to this modern iteration.

The Swiss-made SW510 M calibre beats behind the screw-down case back. Featuring a stop-second function, this hand-wound movement operates at the frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour) with a 58-hour power reserve, when fully wound. 

The case is antimagnetic up to 16.000 A/m according to DIN 8309, providing additional protection against magnetic fields that can interfere with timekeeping precision.

Water-resistant to 10 bar (100 metres / 330 feet), the watch comes with strap options in black, dark brown, or light brown calfskin leather, all paired with a stainless steel pin buckle.
